Misty Kidder became a FIC Board Member in June, 2015. She is the mother of three children ages 16, 15 and 12. Misty has acquired parental education, training and hands on experience. She currently holds certifications in The Nurtured Heart Approach, Behavior Prevention and Support and Mental Health First Aid. Misty has experience navigating various behavioral health systems including the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Department of Economic Security, Department of Child Safety, juvenile justice, and special education. She brings extensive knowledge on special education regulations and requirements within school districts and with other providers as well as personal experience with Individual Education Plans (IEP) and 504 Plans.
Misty volunteers as a Parent Leader for Family Involvement Center and is serving on the Advocacy Committee at Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care. She also volunteers her time on the Parent Advisory Panel at Quality Care Network. In her spare time, Misty analyzes the various behavioral health systems in which she works or that others are struggling to navigate. She promotes families' success by sealing gaps in services or helping to create services needed in the community. Misty is passionate about advocacy and creating happy, healthy, successful, quality families one at a time. She also works as a Construction Defect paralegal with Burdman & Shore, PLLC.
