Dawn Schoenstadt is a parent leader in the behavioral health field. She began this journey with the adoption of two siblings with emotional/behavioral challenges in 1999. With the support of a Family Support Partner and a Parent Mentor a few years later, she found Family Involvement Center and began attending trainings and working there part-time. Her passion for FIC's mission opened her eyes to some of the ways she could support other parents. Her work at Family Involvement Center grew into a managerial position where she developed the Parent Assistance Line (PAL) warm-line support, the precursor to the current Parent Assistance Center (PAC). After five years, Dawn moved her talents to an administrative support position for the Crisis Response Network. She continues to work as consultant on special projects for both Family Involvement Center and Crisis Response Network today.
Dawn has served on numerous committees and workgroups representing the parent voice at local, state and regional agencies. Her most recent appointment is to the Children’s System of Care Workgroup at the new Regional Behavioral Health Authority, Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care. Dawn brings her business and management skills to these committees as well as to her other passion - her own company where she is a facilitator, trainer and consultant for individuals and groups pursuing a spiritual focus in their lives.
Dawn likes to call herself, “Parent Leader at Large” offering mentoring to other parents in the community. She is currently organizing a support group for parents raising children with challenging behaviors at her church and is excited to bridge these parents with Family Involvement Center.
