Volina Armstrong

Volina served as a parent representative on FIC's Board from 2008 to 2014.

Volina moved from Staten Island, New York to the valley at an early age. She is currently a film/theatre major at Scottsdale Community College. She is the mother of three amazing children, one of whom is high functioning autistic. She has served on numerous committees in her efforts to improve policies and programs for families receiving behavioral health services. She has also worked as a facilitator for youth in the behavioral health system. She believes firmly in the importance and power of family voice.

Volina has overcome may hcallenges through support from her faith, family and the community (her church and Family Involvement Center in particular). She volunteers her time performing in plays, teaching children's bible study and serving as the technical director for video production at her church.
