July 10, 2012 Family Involvement Center’s Angelica Noriega, Program Manager of the Parent Assistance Center and Theresa Hill, Parent Partner for the Parent Assistance Center participated in Brown Bag Event at DBHS, a lunch-time roundtable discussion in observance of National Minority Mental Health Month in July.  Angelica and Theresa shared with the group their personal journey of living with a mental illness and how this experience has helped them understand their own children with behavioral health challenges.  These experiences have given them the knowledge to understand and assist families through direct support of families of diverse cultures who seek information and parent support through the Parent Assistance Center or family education and training provided at the Family Involvement Center.  See photos of the event at Through Our Eyes Exhibit and Presentation.
