Family Support Groups
Inherent in the identity of the Family Involvement Center is the natural ability and necessary environment to link families to people in their communities who share similar experiences in their life’s journey. Parent facilitated Support Groups provide opportunities for family members to exchange information, share practical help, increase problem-solving capacities, and receive emotional support from other family members. Families that meet together on a regular basis experience a reduction in feelings of isolation and hopelessness. A support group provides a safe environment where parent to parent connections occur naturally and often lead to long-term connections that go beyond the group setting.
