Coaching involves co-creation between AIFI personnel and each client, providing structure, guidance and support to address individual and organizational change.  This may include:

  • Setting relevant and realistic goals
  • Targeting areas to improve and strengthen
  • Finding blind spots, habits or bias
  • Discovering, clarifying, aligning and inspiring
  • Understanding and overcoming barriers impeding progress
  • Eliciting self-generated solutions and strategies
  • Creating action plans
  • Taking achievable action toward reaching goals
  • Holding individuals accountable and responsible

Mentoring focuses on a developmental experience between a less experienced partner and AIFI personnel or affiliates with additional or greater skills and/or experiences.  Mentoring is designed to:

  • Allow for knowledge or skill transfer
  • Share "lessons learned" working within a System of Care
  • Foster and cultivate family leaders
  • Enhance the skills of those within state, county or organizational leadership roles
