Family Involvement Center (FIC) is a not-for-profit, family-run organization that was founded in 2002. The majority of our employees and our Board of Directors have personal life experience raising children with emotional, physical and/or behavioral health care needs. We assist and support parents/caregivers and help the children and youth we serve succeed in school, live with their families, avoid delinquency, and become productive adults.
Family Involvement Center has helped many parents who have experience with the children's behavioral health system (as well as Juvenile Justice, CPS or the Division of Child Safety and Family Services, Special Education, etc.) turn their challenging life experiences into valuable work backgrounds. At FIC we provide the training and support parents need to become professionals. FIC was founded on the concept of Parents Helping Parents - and it's what makes us unique. Our staff are able to provide hope and understanding because they have lived a journey similar to those of the families we serve.
